| SKURJ'S GRAND FINALE/ATTACK ON MENGES MILLS PT. 3/OPEN MIC AT 8X10: Due to the fact that we have had had a ton of shows lately and not much time to catch up on stuff this show review will be 3 in 1, so pay attention! Captain's Log-Monday, October 22ND It was an adventure today, besides the 4 hour wait in line to sign in to get to even play the open mic, we had to sit through 10 acoustic/groovy hippie bands for a very long time. It was nice for a while but it got old after a while. The very last band was the best band there, they were a funky blues band called Armadillo Stew, very talented and tight sounding band. If you live anywhere near Maryland please check them out, the singer was very nice too. Him and LBJ talked outside of the 8X10 for quite a while about music and band stuff. Some of the acoustic acts were pretty good too, you must check out the 8X10 every Monday and listen to some of these bands and besides we will be there every Monday for the next month or so too so go down there and see some great acts!! We also did a huge flying campaign throughout the area in Baltimore, MD. So now the city has neon green flyers all over their posts.. mauwhahah! Captain's Log-Friday, October 19th Menges Mills was kinda slow, which was probably due to the fact that it was very cold outside. It was still a lot of fun though, there was still a few people out there in the crowd screaming at us, some of it was positive and the half of it was this crazy drunk lady who tried to get a bargain with our merchandise. Eventually her and the little group of drunken hillbillie friends got in trouble for arguing with the Terror Trail faculty (which was quite humorous). Other than that we had fun as usual and noone got seriously hurt. Don't forget to check us out next week at Menges Mills or even all of our shows coming up.. Captain's Log-Saturday October 13th This was Skurj's last show, which is very sad because they have been around as long, if not longer than us. It's really heartbreaking because they were very talented and fun to watch. They may do a reunion show maybe once a year, but other than that they have dismembered. The show was very cool though, we sold a ton of merchandise and we even introduced some new merchandise as well, like the EDENPARK beanies and the EDENPARKAS to keep you all warm in the upcoming winter days. The performance was pretty good for the most part, the crowd booed us a lot which is great because we love being booed. The room was extremely hot though, it was almost unbearable to be inside. There was stinky sweaty people everywhere. Most of the bands that played were pretty darn good too. Slapjaw played and they were (like always) fun to watch, IP and Frankie were dancing like monkeys for Slapjaw, it was quite amusing. They have another band called Shat, I highly recommend you check them out too... ATTACK ON MENGES MILLS PT. 2: Captain's Log-Saturday, October 6th Here is round 2 of the attack of EDENPARK on the Terror Trail at Menges Mills. The first half was kinda sloppy due to technical difficulties with the PA system other than that it was a good performance (duh we're talking about EDENPARK here, they always have good performances). Then the second half was much better, we fixed the PA and everything sounded great. And BBS hooked up the data projector to the camcorder and had it facing the wall so that the people in the crowd could see the band playing from a different angle. People were loving it and went flocking to the EDENPARK stand afterwards. When the band was done and getting packed up LBJ wrapped himself up and went around the Terror Trail scaring people as they past by. It was quite amusing, he would stand perfectly still and when people walked up to him he would hiss at them and it made a lot people flinch. And no thanks to LBJ's friend who was hanging out with EDENPARK that night (who was sick), LBJ is now really sick with athe same cold that his friend had. Get better now LBJ!! SKATEPARK BENEFIT SHOW: Captain's Log-Friday, October 5th The benefit show was fantastic! EDENPARK would like to thank each and every one of you for coming out. LBJ would like to give a special thanks to all the bands who played at the skatepark and Travis for setting up most of the benefit show. For the most part it was a great success, we made over $550 in donations for the Red Cross. Sadly IFarm couldn't make it but they will come back another time to the skatepark. All the bands (who did play) were very good. Secret to Lie (who opened up for the show) played their very first show and you couldn't even tell it was their first show they were so tight, New Dance Show was cool as well it has a former member of the band Third Year Freshman in it. Death By Nostalgia totally changed their style and it sounded great, they used to be harder and faster punk, now they have an emo element. The Commercials (who LBJ hasn't seen since Liberty Firehall years ago was shocked on how different they sounded) were rather tight musically and fun to watch as well. We did very well too, there was a few mishaps with Alexander's effects pedal but we got it fixed right away. Other than that the band played extremely well. We keep getting tighter and stronger with our performances, soon we will be the juggernauts of theatrical punk... ATTACK ON MENGES MILLS PT. 1: Captain's Log-Friday, September 29th Well this show was much better than the show on Monday. Every weekend for the next month or so we are playing at a Halloween Haunted Mill event they do for a month straight every weekend and sometimes during the week too. It's near this town called Spring Grove, PA and its really cool. It will expose the band a lot, hundreds of people come through there every day it's opened. We actually sold out of our one batch of CDs but luckily we had more on standby. We played at the entrance part of the Terror Trail and people just loved us. The band played very well the first set but not as many people there to enjoy it. However the second set there was people everywhere and were buying stuff left and right and asking for autographs and stuff. Crackhouse signed some girl's belly, which was really funny, BBS said he's halfway to being a rockstar he just needs to go up a little higher next time. Frankie C. broke a guitar string during the second set and then he had tuning problems, but it's OK because EDENPARK made a really cool song up on the spot while Frankie fixed his string and people enjoyed it. So go check out Menges Mills, even if you don't like us still go to get the crap scared out of you, it's a lot of fun and there's a lot of cool people out there so go! Thank you all and enjoy your EDENPARK stuff for those of you who have gotten our stuff! SUMMERJACK SKATEPARK SHOW: Captain's Log- Monday September 24th Well to start things off the show was on a Monday night, its a big mistake to do a show on a Monday around here. The turnout was horrible and sadly most of the people left because most of the bands that were supposed to play backed out at the last minute. And second off, it was raining cats and dogs! The storm was so bad that in a little town in York county called Hanover had a tornado and 50 people were injured and 2 people were killed and there was alot of buildings were damaged. Anyway the show wasn't that good so far as the turnout but at least EDENPARK and SUMMERJACK were there and they both were VERY good. SUMMERJACK is from California, they do songs for ESPN Xtreme games and stuff. They were on tour so they wanted to play the skatepark since they were on the East coast. They did a dedication to NY and to Joey Ramone which was really sweet of them because they covered a Ramones song. EDENPARK got to play for like over an hour so that was freakin awesome so did SUMMERJACK so it was nice and equal. It may have seemed like a crappy night but at least we made friends with SUMMERJACK. Very nice guys, go check them out! BENEFIT SHOW IN HARRISBURG: Captain's Log- Saturday July 28th This was a great show, we feel bad for anyone who missed it. It was an outside benefit show for homeless people and they made over $800 for it, so congratulations to them! Throughout the day we had people coming up to us left and right like we were rock stars. People even bought all of the LBJ collection merchandise, like the cow print boxers and the stuffed animal cows that moo. Some of the band even signed autographs on the stuffed cows too! Kids really enjoyied the show, alot of them never seen us before so we have new fans which is always a great thing. The one band there called 33 RPM's covered Atom and His Package- "Punk rock academy" and it was really cool to see that they knew who he was. There was alot of bands that played, most of them we never even heard of some of we have. But they were all very talented and we wish them the best. We played for a really long time and the kid who putted the show on wanted us to play for an hour and a half which would have been nuts if we would have gone on that long because there's so much action that goes on at our shows. The guys would have died playing that long. Anyway,in the middle of the set Frankie C. went nuts and tackled BBS and they wrestled for a bit. Then like 2 other people from the crowd jumped in and then IP got into it as well. It was quite amusing to watch. It happened again at the end of the show between IP and BBS and it was funny too, the kid's parents thought it was real too.... FIREHOUSE GRILLE IN VA: Captain's Log- Friday July 20th This show was an "experimental" show that went rather well for the most part. It was to see how we would all get along with each other if we all went on a far distance mini tour, it was very good, no real fights broke out or anything. We played in Fairfax, VA, (which is a beautiful state by the way) and it took us at least 3 hours to get down there and 3 hours to get back. It would normally take about 2 hours to get there but the traffic was so bad that it delayed us a good bit. And on the way down BBS got sick and throw up all over the camcorder and on himself, it was very nasty. Poor LBJ had to use that camcorder later that night. Luckily the traffic didn't make us late for the show but it did kill some of our time for attacking local hangouts, which sucked. We got to meet some really cool kids who helped flyer the show down there because LBJ met the one girl online. She was a very sweet girl in person and we thank her and her friends for helping us out and they will all be rewarded. The show it itself was pretty cool. The place we played at was a small bar with a very small stage (which didn't bother us any). The sound was pretty good and the soundguy's name was Sparky. LBJ didn't get to sing with them though because he was doing video work for them and the video will actually be put onto the website within a few days from now so stop back at the site and see what we're like if you have never seen us before. The Cheerleaders made little signs that told the audience to "boo" the band and the signs look really funny. The crowd actually did what the signs told them to, there's different signs as well not just ones that tell them to "boo" the band. Thicker Than Water were pretty nice guys, they brought the PA system with them and stuff. They covered a Sex Pistols song and a Dead Kennedy's song which was really crazy because they were a metal band. They were all very talented and they will be playing here in York very soon so come check them out... FIRST CAPITAL SK8PARK SHOW: Captain's Log-Sunday July 15th Boy was this show ever great! There were so many people there and we really had a good time playing. For starters it was BBS' 27th birthday and we gave him a birthday cake with some balloons. His lovely in-laws were there too as well as his wife and LBS too. IP purchased a new wireless microphone, which means he can frolic all over the place and still sing. We played a lot of new songs that we all love very much. LBJ's head hurt pretty bad though, but he still sang a couple of songs. The Sk8park is a really great new place for show's we highly recommend people to check it out, either to skate/watch the skaters or to watch the bands play. Either way you can't beat it and it's pretty cheap to get into also! it's $6 to get in and you can skate till your head falls off and listen to great live acts at the sametime! We feel like we have a new safe haven for a long time. It's partly owned by the city too, so that helps out a lot, plus it's in an industrial area which means no sound ordinance and the neighbors love it! All of the bands that played were VERY good. Face Down Angels played fabulous set. JamesLoveJackson was fantastic like always. The Lowbudgets were freakin' awesome and a band that got ripped off the night before in Philly took over the place of a band in DC that didn't show up due to some miscommunications. But this seriously was one of York's finest shows in a long time. Everyone had a great time, it wasn't rushed it ran smoothly for the most part and it sounded good as well. We must keep this good thing going and not ruin it.. The Dillsburg and Hanover Benefit show. Captain's Log-Friday, May 18th and Saturday May 19th Well it wasn't one of our best shows, but it wasn't dull that's for sure. LBJ was in charge of sound at the entire show and he had a hard time keeping things sounding good but he eventually got it under control and then EDENPARK showed up. The performance was great and it was the new Alexander's first show and he did great, but when the time came up for EDENPARK to play it kept getting pushed back. Eventually they ended up playing last, which really sucked being that BBS was exhausted and very cranky and wanted to go to bed. The night before he was very busy editing York High's prom video (which turned out fantastic by the way and if you want one email us and we'll send ya one.. it's $20.00 a video!). But anyway enough Capitalism for now, back to the show. Calvin was running patience and getting more miserable and he even told LBJ he was about to snap if somebody got smart to him. Well, one of the worse things that could have happened, happened.. Somebody (pretty sure the skinheads who were starting trouble earlier with the singer of Fate Ends Now by messing with his truck) thought it would be cool to break into BBS's van and steal a bunch of belongings of his. Well, like anybody who got put into that situation, BBS was pretty freakin' mad so he freaked out inside the Firehall after the set and we were packing up. He was yelling at everyone in there trying to figure out who would do something so foolish, but no one knew or spoke up. Then to make things a bit worse, the one band who was from Baltimore, MD was parked behind BBS and needed him to move his van so they could get through decided to start getting smart with BBS about his van being in the way so BBS almost attacked them and hell almost broke loose, but luckily we got everyone calmed down (sorta) But yeah we still don't know who stole the stuff, but hopefully we'll figure out who has it..... Well, the Hanover show wasn't too bad, it was it very easy to find and it was a great place to have outside shows, but for the love of Pete there was no kind of organization! We don't blame it on the girl who put it on, it was prom night so all the bands that were playing had to be ready for prom so they would push each other around to play. The benefit was for suicide awareness and all proceeds went to Alternative Rehabilitative Communities of Carlisle, Pa (Zimmerman Chapter). They made a pretty good amount of money so we were glad to help out by performing, even though our set got shortened by the one band Forgotten Youth, who had prom to attend to. The soundguy was a bit of a jerk though, he decided to get drunk and ran off somewhere leaving the PA system all alone. So LBJ (the hero that he is) took matters into his own hands by doing sound for the remainder of the show until Devolver came on (they had their own sound system and soundguy) so that was nice for LBJ in the long run. It was very hard for him to do sound because the PA speakers were set up so weird The drunken soundguy had them way in front of the bands and above them so the bands couldn't be heard up front by the crowd. You could only heard them from a far away distance and by that point it was hard to hard the music, but the vocals would be really loud. Other than those slight problems it was a good show. Good job Marcie! (She put the show on and it was the first one she ever did..) 7TH BIRTHDAY PARTY/ALEXANDER'S LAST SHOW Captain's Log-April 29th While the band was gathering up their instruments back at the EDENPARK headquarters getting ready to rock out at the Chameleon. Little did they know what the Cheerleaders were up to. They were planning and finalizing their evil surprise "Birthday" party for EDENPARK's 7th birthday. And the Cheerleaders really went all out for the band. Teisha and Abby planned out most of the party and bought all of the food then LBJ and the Silent Cheerleader did the rest of the slave labor. Abby ordered 5lbs. of shrimp and 2 really nice cakes, 1 for the band that had their picture on it and the other cake was for the audience. There was over 65 slices of cake that came with a paper plate that had band info on it and the cake itself had the EDENPARK sign on it (which was designed by the Silent Cheerleader) and everybody enjoy it a lot. The band was in total shock when the Cheerleaders showed them their food. IP didn't know what to say except "stay the hell away from the shrimp, they're mine" and "get the hell out of my way I want the shrimp now and you can't stop me" so it's safe to say he liked his present. They all devoured of the cake within a few minutes and the shrimp quickly went away too and whatever was left went to IP because he is a hungry animal. BBS was mumbling and eating at the sametime and Crackhouse was hovering over the food like a vulture as well. Sadly there was nothing their for Alexander to eat because he is vegan, but he was busy getting his stuff in to the back of the Chameleon anyway so it was OK. Anyway about the actual show itself. It was fun, the first band that played was called Metrix and they were rather interesting, for one, the drummer appeared to be 13 years old and he was VERY good. They were all talented and young, they did a bunch of covers like of Metallica and Megadeth. After they got done EDENPARK hit the stage and the balloons came flying out and EDENPARK busted most of the balloons within the first 4 songs. And LBJ's parents were there so EDENPARK played "Bad Grades, No Dreads" extra powerful for LBJ's parents since that's the protest song for their reign of terror against dreadlocks. Then their final song ever with Alexander in the band was "Beef Oven" and that's a song that Frankie doesn't play guitar for so he goes and causes chaos on and off stage. In the middle of the song he jumped up on BBS's back and BBS picked him up and slammed him down on the ground like a grizzybear playing with a camper's cooler. It was an amazing site and it will never be forgotten THE FIDDLESTYX AND LIBERTY SHOWS!! Captain's Log-April 13th and 14th: These shows were really different in a lot of ways. Let us start with Friday. Well, first we all were loaded up and got ready for our 2 hour long drive (which was never done before with the current band lineup), it was a lot of fun! We did a radio interview at the Susquehanna College a half hour away from Milton, PA (where our show at Fiddlestyx was). Anyway, it was really funny, we cracked jokes about some local bands, masturbation, The Black Album's songs, and other things. The DJ was very nice and didn't ask stupid typical questions. He seemed to really care about the local music scene, which is very important, we wish more local DJ's were like that. The best part about the interview was when it was over and we went into the bathroom to do our businesses. BBS was in there doing his and taking a very long time in there so Frankie got wet paper towels and threw them over the bathroom stall, it was so funny to hear BBS scream. When he got out of the bathroom we ran for the vehicles because we knew he was going to throw stuff at us. Sadly for Frankie and Crackhouse, they had to ride up with BBS so of course the doors were locked and they had to run for their lives. It was really great. Then after that zany chaos party we got back on the road for another half hour. We got to Fiddlestyx with no problems and we set up our own little table to sell stuff and we watched the bands rock out. Slapjaw was the first band and HOT DIGGIDY are they ever good! We met them at the MMC back in February and we knew they were cool guys, we were happy we finally got to play with them. The same about Sho' Nuff, we've been hearing a lot about them, they were very talented guys. Unfortunately there wasn't very many people there to enjoy it which really sucked because they missed some great acts. Plus they missed our set which was really too bad for them because we think it might have been one of our best sets we've had in months. We were all into it, we were really tight and it was just a good performance all over. We were going to stay up there all night and get a hotel room, but we had obligations so we had to get home... The next day we all gathered up at the parking lot of Border's bookstore in York. Then we drove over to Lancaster to play at Liberty Firehall (not like the one in York). Oh and by the way there appears that there is quite a few Liberty Firehalls in PA because there was 2 in Lancaster and there's also one in York as we just mentioned. After we made the first mistake by going to the 1st Liberty Firehall station (who were having a flower sale), we got back on the road and about 2 miles down the road we found where we needed to be. We were the first band to play, which is a crappie time slot for any band to play. We didn't care because we decided that we were going to do an improv set because we were doing it to have fun. We feel that you shouldn't take your band so serious. Sometimes you need to release the tensions with your band by making up new stuff on the spot. There wasn't too many people there at the beginning but then it started to pick up. Most of the kids really liked what we were doing and of course IP and BBS got into a wrestling match at the end. Those guys are too wild sometimes! BBS hit his arm and it was totally numb for a couple of days, luckily it's OK now. Crackhouses' symbol stand broke in the middle of a song and the drummer from Skurj and LBJ helped save the day by duct taping it back together. Where would any band be without duct tape? It truly is a tool sent by the gods. Skurj played shortly after Next Of Kin played who played right after us and Skurj was really entertaining. The one guitarist broke 3 strings during their set and he still managed to play the whole show without changing his strings, it was quite amusing. The other bands that played did well for what they were and it was a good time. The free pizza and water for the bands was nice too! THE BATTLE OF THE BANDS AT GULLIFTY'S Captain's Log-April 4th: Wednesday was an adventure, first off there was about 20 people at Gullifty's which a normal show for us (insert laugh here), but this was a competition that John Harris was putting it on to get a major spot for "heavier" bands to perform at the PMC AKA Philadelphia Music Conference. There was three bands to battle Balistic, Bon Furher and us. Balistic was the first band to play at the competition and boy did they suck. No offense, but it was they were really bad cheesy 80's metal with bassist/singer who screamed like a girl in some songs. The drummer used an electronic drumkit which would have been OK, but he didn't use different drum sounds or effects. He might as well had a regular drumkit, it at least would have been louder. They were nice guys when they weren't taking themselves so seriously and trying so hard to be so cock rock-esque. Now on the other hand Bon Furher was really cool, we enjoyed them a lot. It was 2 guys (a drummer/singer and a singer/guitarist/keyboardist/eggbeater player/Hitler) that poured out propaganda about the history of music and how much it sucked. The singer guy dressed up in a Hitler-like uniform and gave long speeches in-between songs. He also had a little light show with a strobe light and used an eggbeater and rubbed it against his guitar in the one song. The drummer was amazing, he was really fast and extremely talented (no Chris Crackhouse though). After they were done we started to get our stuff up on stage, we were all getting antsy because Alexander was very late. The reason why he was late was because he got lost coming from Lancaster. Well, he made it just in time before we were to go on, so LBJ rushed with Alexander to get his equipment out and set up everything. Once that all got taken care of, Jenn Shade from 105.7 The X (our local radio station) made an announcement that we were to play next. While that was happening LBJ made a little banner with the EDENPARK website and waved it over Jenn Shade's head while she talked onstage about the night with crowd (all 12 drunks) just to be foolish, it was funny. The show was OK however Frankie couldn't hear himself or anyone else at all in the monitors so he was a bit cranky about that. Crackhouse did very well, but then again he could hear everything. IP was really pissy because of some reason, that and there was nobody there to see us play except a few drunks and the really cool sound guy. BBS slipped and fell gracefully to the floor when Crackhouse's carpet for his drumkit slid out, but it didn't mess him up at all, it like it was part of the act. It looked pretty cool actually. The end results. Bon Furher rightfully won the competition for the evening.... THE FASHION SHOW AND THE GPC SHOW! Captain's Log-March 22nd and 23rd: Thursday was a weird show, we really did not belong there at all. It was a fashion show with a gospel choir and all kinds of crazy stuff, but it was nice to see so many people there. Until we came up onstage... What apparently happened to the crowd was during the intermission (when we were setting up) there was a fight in one of the bathrooms and people got freaked out and left. So basically we played for like 15 people, which was fine we seen worse. Another bad part about the show was the acoustics, the sound in that room was insane. It was definitely not built for rock bands to play in. We had a lot of fun though, the cheerleaders were good... : giggles uncontrollably: The one cheerleader's shoe went flying when she did a kick and it was rather humorous to see her face get bright red. Also LBJ screwed up when he was doing his cheer. He said "B" instead of a "P" because he lost focus due to the fact that the one cheerleader's butt was right in his face. He was very flustered. Otherwise the show was really great. We got some great shots on the camcorder, so it wasn't all bad... Friday's show was a lot of fun! The GPC was a great place, a lot of kids showed up and the bands were really good. One Way Ticket performed and they were busting out some ska with Frankie C. doing vocals for a song or 2. Once again Looking Forward played and the crowd went nuts for them. Then Vengeance Theory, a great band from the Maryland area played and they were fantastic, a very tight band. Tons of swingin' and dancing kids. During their set these kids were busting out some crazy hardcore dances and Fat Nick from Fat Nick's Fish got into the pit and almost lost his pants, literally. His pants got caught on somebody's shoe when they were jumping around and it ripped his pants up the middle. It was extremely funny, he was bright red. People were having fun watching us play too some kids were singing along like Barry from the band Violation made a special guest appearance for the last song of the night which was "Truck 9." They had a real blast that night. BBS was headbutting the crowd and rolling around on the floor in a pair of shorts (it was pretty cold out that night). Lucky Frankie C. got to borrow his uncle's "buttrock" guitar for the show, which was rather spiffy. Oh and he didn't break it this time unlike his last guitar... THE CHEERLEADERS' FIRST SHOW!! Captain's Log-March 10th: Saturday was definitely an interesting show. All of us showed up at the show around 5:30-6 o' clock. There was a lot of cool people there that some of us haven't seen in years, which was really nice. There was a lot of good bands out there too, CLANCY 6 was nuts as always, xLooking Forwardx was really good, they have a pretty big following in Hanover/Shrewsbury PA. The band Devoted Molded was pretty cool too, they sorta reminded me of Today's My Super Spaceout Day except with a Christian background, their bassist was crazy too. Later around 8PM the new EDENPARK cheerleaders showed up and they got dressed and ready for their first performance ever. LBJ helped put a fake tattoo on the one cheerleader and it was really funny because he went into the girls bathroom with her to help and he came out with her with a big smile on his face. It just didn't look right for him or her. Then we got the cheerleaders together and took group pictures of them plus BBS gave them a little pep rally before a hand. After that it was our turn to hit the stage so we gathered all the band equipment and put it on stage meanwhile LBJ and the girls practiced their performance in the back room. Eventually we all got ourselves ready and went out on stage and the girls did a fine job for their first performance.. GOOD JOB GIRLS! Halfway into the set trouble happened.. We were talking in-between songs like we normally do and we decided to dedicat a song to the drummer of the Boils (Warren) and the song was "Coughman", which is actually a song about this old neighbor guy that got Liberty Firehall shut down (which was this cool place where we used to have shows often). Anyway we changed it from "Coughman" to "Warren" and it was funny. But Later on he came out with a trash can and dumped it out on IP's head and took off running, so IP chased after him and was going to wrestle him (pretend of course), but one of Warren's friends took it the wrong way and was about to fight IP. They eventually got things worked out came back inside and then finished the set and nobody got seriously hurt so all was good from that point on. After the show was over and we hung out for a while and then went to our homes... THE MAGICAL SHOW AT THE SCOUT HOUSE IN SHREWSBURY, PA.
Captain's Log-Saturday March 3rd: It started off like any other day. LBJ got ready to go and printed out the directions. BBS picked up EDENPARK's old guitarist Justin Davis and went to BBS's house and hung out there for a while and went to the show together. Frankie picked up LBJ around 2:30pm and went over to the EDENPARK headquarters to load up the vehicles. Then Frankie and LBJ took off while the rest of the guys loaded up their equipment. When Frankie and LBJ showed up at the show girls started swarming after Frankie and LBJ like honeybees. There were a lot of old and new faces there, it was nice seeing everyone there. It was a pretty good amount of people there too considering it was a small place. I'd say there was about 60 kids there. The whole band met up the in front of the Scout house around 5-5:30pm. We were supposed to play last, but Alexander had to be somewhere at 7:00 so we got to play earlier, around 6-6:30. The performance (like most) was insane, IP had a special pair of pants on that when he pulled on the back the whole back came off and his ass would hang out. Everyone was laughing and was in shock. During "Bad Grades, No Dreads" Alexander's Guitar somehow got stuck on LBJ's microphone chord and pulled out of his hand, which was rather funny. And due to the lack of fluids, LBJ's voice was dry as a bone which caused his voice to crack during the song, which was even funnier. Halfway into their set BBS and IP got into a "screaming match" and started to "fight" and people actually left because they thought it was real, but some were brave enough to stay and watch the whole set and watch the grand finale wrestling match where BBS actually did accidentally hit IP hard. He's OK though, but it looked like it made him pissed off for real, but he's OK. People were amazed by the show and were crowding around us after the set and bought a bunch of merchandise, it was really cool to see that people liked what was going on. ROCK ON SHREWSBURY!! A LITTLE STORY ABOUT EDENPARK'S ADVENTURES AT THE MILLENNIUM MUSIC CONFERENCE: Captain's Log- February 16th-17th: The adventure began on Friday the 16th around 10am. We get the Hilton Hotel (where the Millennium Music Conference was) and it was really boring for a few hours. We were the only band there that had a booth to sell and explain what we were all about, which was nice because that's what we did, we sold some merchandise and told a lot of people about ourselves. Then Barry and Cal did an improv acoustic set on the open mic around 3:30pm. It was truly beautiful to see them together for the first time in that form. Then it was back to work at the table. Around 6:30pm we packed things up. By 7:00pm Barry, LBJ and Cal began their quest to find the Broad Street Market so that Cal could sing for Atomic Jazz. On the way there we came across the best damn pizza shop ever, they were called Santo's and man their single slices were about the size of half a pizza. Fantastic zesty flavor, great sauce and crunchy dough, no pizza can top them, believe me we tried the others afterwards. 6 blocks later we finally come up to the Market. We waited for the first 3 "bands" to play. The one performer was an MC named Jugganot that hit the stage and boy was it interesting, the fact that he rapped to a CD (that skipped really bad I might add)was really funny. Barry busted out his breakdancing skills and made Jugganot very happy and he gave Barry mad props. Then at 9:00pm Atomic Jazz took the stage and they were Phenomenal. Calvin was nuts on stage, that boy can dance. Later that night Cal spent the night at the hotel and hung out at the after party. The next day started around the same time as the first day. We got there a little later due to the fact that Aaron, Barry and LBJ had to load up some of the band equipment at the EDENPARK headquarters. Anyway we got up there and set up the booth we had and talked to a lot people and made some connections. Aaron went to all the little meetings, Barry handed out homemade EDENPARK bags that were filled with EDENPARK propaganda inside. LBJ and Lou (Cal's wonderful Mom) watched the booth for couple of hours. Meanwhile around 12:00pm Calvin got lost for 2 and a half hours looking for a place to make copies. Eventually he came back with massive amounts of copies and all of us went spastic by handing out tons of EDENPARK bags filled with more junk. At 4:25pm LBJ grabbed a crap load of EDENPARK stuff and threw them in an elevator so people coming up and down it could get some our stuff. At 4:28pm Aaron screams out an EDENPARK announcement to all that we were playing any minute. So LBJ grabbed 2 handfuls of EDENPARK stuff and threw the one hand of fliers and whatnots into the air in the lobby of the Conference for everyone to see and in the open mic room he threw the other handful on the floor in front of the DJ's. 4:30pm EDENPARK does one of the most gorgeous spectacle ever in our 7 year history. We were one of the most critically acclaimed bands to play the open mic sessions of the year. I wish more people could have seen the beauty we saw, we were an unstoppable force. All the other bands that were watching us were dumbfounded by the performance. After our 13 minute set Aaron and Cal got into a wrestling match in the middle of the DJ room and Aaron almost broke the photographer's light. Everyone loved us because we were being so insane, but basically we were being ourselves. People began flocking over to us after they saw what we were all about. After that we took a bunch of group pictures for the Unsung Hero magazine, that was really funny too, the poses all of us did were nuts. After the photo shoot we went back to our table and hung out and started packing things away around 5:00pm (which is about the time the Conference ended both nights). Around 6:45pm we notice this rather tall figured man moping around all the booths who looked rather familiar. It turned out to be Howard Stern, but Aaron wasn't convinced that it was him so he made Mr. Stern take his sunglasses off and believe it or not it was him. He eventually scoward over to our booth and he snagged one our CD's and asked about what we sounded like. He claimed he was going to play our CD on the air, but we doubt he will. Anyways at 7:00pm we left to go play our show at the S.S. Lighthouse (ironically enough their were nazis there). We got lost for over an hour trying to find the place. That place was a real dump, in the middle of nowhere with no phone or phone number for that matter, no sign or anything to let us know where it was. Around 8:45 we find the place and we got about 15 minutes to play. Thank God the band before us was kind enough to give up some of their playing time for us to play our set. Otherwise we would not have gotten to play at all and we would have been very upset. After our insane set we stuck around to see the band that gave up their time for us and they were very nice guys. Their band was called Skinned and they were from Dallastown, PA. Strangely enough the nazis that were there with their big swastikas on the back of their jackets were very nice to Cal, maybe its because Cal made a commercial for their band on the radio. Then we all went to the hotel and got 4 whole large scrumptious pizzas from Santo's. We hung out for about 2 hours then most of us departed except Barry and Cal who spent the night there. That concludes this Captain's Log. End of transmission... |
